All About the Animals Share

I made this card as part of a swap that was themed animals. The only requirement was that the card needed to have an animal on it. I choose to make a baby card using Nursery Necessities. Colors are Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo and Dusty Durango. The DSP is Razzleberry Lemonade.

Thanks for stopping by!

Quick Update

I guess it would have helped if I actually posted a picture of the card from yesterday, huh? I'm not sure what happened, but I will have to try to relocate it and repost it. Sorry about that.

I also noticed that the DSP I used in several of my Christmas cards was actually Holiday Lounge and not Merry Moments. So I hopefully have updated all those posts to be correct now.

Here is a card that I did not make, but rather Laurie did. She used the stamp set Paradise and the rock-and-roll technique (which I also used on yesterday's card, which has seem to disappear). I was not given the colors used, but it looks like Dusty Durango and Crushed Curry since those are the colors in the DSP used.

I am studying for an actuarial test in the beginning of November and I'm way behind, so I will not have much time to stamp, but I will still try to update my blog with samples for you.

Top Note Matchbox Tutorial

As promised, here is the tutorial for the top note matchbox posted here. While everyone else is enjoying convention, you can have some fun of your own. Please let me know if you have any questions. I will post more step-by-step pictures when I get home. This is my first tutorial, so any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Enjoy!

Supplies:
8 ½ x 5 ½ thin chip board (cereal box, cardboard from DSP, etc)
8 ½ x 11 DSP
12 x 12 cardstock
Sticky Strip
Big Shot
Top Note Die
Matchbox Die
Oval punch
2 ½ x 4 transparency sheet
2 jumbo eyelets
6” wide ribbon
Crop-a-Dile

Directions:
1. Cover both sides of the chip board with the DSP and cut out two Top Note Dies. These will be the top and bottom of the box.
2. Cut out two matchboxes and two sleeves using the cardstock. Assemble the box as instructed.
3. Adhere the middle section of the two sleeves together. Make sure the score lines line up for the rest of the sleeve and the shorter tabs are on the same end.
4. From the shorter end of the tabs, punch the oval out of the two sleeves. Slide the paper all the way in and center (this ensures the holes are in approximately the same place on both sleeves). This will be used as a template in step five to determine where to punch the ovals in the top note.
5. Center the two holes on the back side of one of the top notes and mark the holes with a pencil. This ensures the holes will match up when assembled. Take the oval punch and punch the two ovals out of the top note. Note: Other shapes can be used, but not all with punch through the chip board, so a test might want to be performed beforehand. No responsibility is taken for damaged punches.
6. Finish assembling the two sleeves, using sticky strip to adhere them.
7. Attach the transparency sheet to the bottom of the top note with the holes.
8. Line up the ovals on the tope note and the sleeves and adhere with sticky strip. Please the tape on the sleeves rather than the top note to ensure the adhesive is only where the two meet.
9. Adhere the bottom of the top note to the bottom of the sleeve, again using sticky strip on the sleeve.
10. Using the Crop-a-Dile, set the two jumbo eyelets in the matchboxes.
11. Thread 3” of the ribbon through the eyelet and tie in a knot inside the box. This will be the pull for the drawer. Repeat on the other drawer.
12. Decorate as desired.

More Razzle Dazzle

I hope you enjoyed the Blog Tour and have recovered from looking at 79 blogs, if you did all 4 tours! Here are a couple other examples I did using the Razzle Dazzle set that I didn't get to show you during the tour due to the limited number of pictures we were to post.

This sample showcases only one color, Rich Razzleberry, along with Basic Gray for the base. Also featured is the polka dotted ribbon in the new in colors. The Modern Label and Word Window punches were used.

The other sample using the Big Shot is the Bitty Box and Envelope set. Also used was the scalloped circle punch and white grosgrain ribbon.

And here is the inside of the card shown on the tour, as promised. I used the Look Here die with the Big Shot, but instead of placing a gift card in it, I simply stamped on piece of cardstock and inserted that. Also used was the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP.

Royal Blog Tour

**Links have been removed for the tour, but you can still enjoy my samples

This castle features the stamp set Razzle Dazzle and the new in colors. The first sample features the in-colors Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry, and Melon Mambo cardstock, Crushed Curry and Rich Razzleberry ink pads, and the new in color markers Dusty Durango, Rich Razzleberry and Melon Mambo. Finally, the the punches include the eyelet border punch, Modern Label punch, ticket corner punch and the Word Window punch.

Next, is the circle scalloped card. I used the Big Shot to cut out the Scalloped Circle and Circle for the case base. And then I used Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry ink. Also, the polka dotted ribbon again, along with the Modern Label and Word Window punches.

Using Melon Mambo cardstock for the base, this sample also shows the rock-n-roll technique with the Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo ink. Finally, the scalloped border punch was also used. Stop by next week to see the inside of the card that uses the Look Here die.

My final sample I also used as a WOW swap and again utilized the in color cardstock and polka dot ribbon. Whisper White Craft ink and the white jumbo grommet were also used.

Happy Belated Fourth of July!

Hope everyone had a safe and fun Fourth of July. Along, with America, I celebrated my 29th birthday this weekend (on the third) and to celebrate, I'm giving away BLOG CANDY! It will be the Heart to Heart punch from SU! I accidentally ordered a duplicate of this punch and thought I'd share my mistake with all you lovely readers. You can enter several different ways, leave a comment, share a sample using the Lovely Flowers Bunch hostess set, subscribe to my blog. You will get one entry for each item you complete. Please be sure to leave your email address and the number of items you complete. Drawing will be held on Friday, July 10th.

Why samples from the Lovely Flower Bunch? I am participating in a 2 for 1 swap on splitcoast and my set is the Lovely Flower Bunch. I need to make 2 different cards with this set and since it's a swap, I need to be able to reproduce it many times. One of my samples using the Lovely Flower Bunch is below, but I can't reproduce this many times since it's using one of the rub-ons.

Today, I am also sharing with you a stamp camp project I created using the Top Note and Matchbox drawers die cut. I do have a tutorial, but will share it later. I am part of a Stamp Camp swap where we all create a stamp camp project and tutorial and then we will get a CD of the tutorials. I will share my tutorial after the swap due date. I used Razzleberry Lemonade DSP and Oval All stamp set.

Happy New Year!

Okay, so it's the new year for Stampin' Up! and the new catalog. To celebrate I have a few samples made with the new In Colors and new stamp sets.

Where have I been? Good question. But it hasn't been here updating my blog, and I'm so sorry about that. I can't believe how the time as flown and the years is half over! To make up for lost time, I will be posting two samples, both using Circle Circus (a new stamp set) and the new In Color paper and inks. The new In Colors are Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede, Rich Razzleberry, Mango Mellon, Crushed Curry, and Dusty Durango. This is all of the top of my head, so I may have some words mixed up or a slight variation, so please forgive me. Also used was Think Happy Thoughts stamp set and Razzleberry Lemonade DSP (also off the top of my head).
