Today I am showing yet another card that I created for a swap using Island Oasis DSP. I tried to show as many different patterns of the paper as possible, while still making it reasonable to reproduce. I came up with the pinwheel design. This is NOT my original design and there are many other tutorials out there for this, but this is what I did.

Supplies:

1 1/4" square punch

Word Window Punch

Build a Brad

3/4" circle punch

Cardstock  (Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red)

DSP (Island Oasis)

Ink (Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red)

Tropical Party Stamp Set

Pocket Sillouettes (sentiment)

Directions:

1. Cut two 2 5/8" squares out of Rose Red cardstock

2. Fold both squares in half both ways and along the diagonals to find the centers.

3. Align the squares so the score lines on one of the squares folded in half line up with the score lines on the other square along the diagonal and the centers are on top of each other.

4. Punch four 1 1/4" squares out of one design of DSP and four more out of another design of DSP.

5. Start layering the squares on top of the base you created in step 3, alternating DSP designs. The last square will need to be tucked under the first square to finish the pinwheel look.

6. Punch out 3/4" circle out of another design of DSP and assemble the Build a Brad.

7. Put the Build a Brad in the center of your now completed pinwheel.
8. Finish the card as desired. I used Island Party to add a subtle design to the Pumpkin Pie cardstock and the word window punch to display my greeting on the Rose Red cardstock.

Another Quick Sample

Pocket Silhouettes

Again, where have I been? This time I actually have an answer for you. Preparing for the Royal Blog Tour and a Stamping' From the Heart event. In preparation for this event, myself and Laurie Lenertz (a fellow demonstrator) are holding workshops for several girl scout troops so they can help us stamp the cards for the troops at the main event on August 9. At this event we hope to make at least 800 Christmas cards for the troops. That being said, we have also designed 8 different Christmas cards for this event. I have attached one of the cards that we will be making at the workshops for the girl scouts, featuring Pocket Sillouettes.

Quick Sample

I haven't been very good at updating my blog this week. Partially this is because I wanted to keep the blog candy on top and I'm not very good at this and don't know how to make it a "sticky" entry. The other part is because this week has just flown by and I have no idea where the time went. Here is a quick sample that I made for a swap that I participated in on SCS. It uses Pocket Sillouettes, Pink Piroquette, Whisper White, Basic Black, Lavendar Lace, sizzix texturz plates, and whisper white grosgrain. AND there is still time to enter for blog candy, the drawing will be done something tomorrow. Finally, I plan to do a lot of stamping this week so be on the look out for lots of new things next week.
