Scrapbook Pages Part 2

Here are a few more pages from the scrapbook that I started to share with you yesterday.

This first spread is of a few of the things we say while walking or driving around Steamboat.

These pictures are of the Strawberry Park Hot Springs.

And finally these are pictures of when us swimming the in hot springs. It was a pretty big deal to see my dad in swimming trunks. He's one of those old fashion farm boys that never wears shorts.

More to come tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by!

Scrapbook Share Part 1

Over the next two days, I'm going to be sharing you a scrapbook that I made my dad for Christmas. I took the pictures while the pages were in the sleeves (I had a hard time getting them in and forgot to take pictures beforehand), so there is some reflection and the quality isn't the best. All supplies were Stampin' Up! but I did use a non-SU product to make the titles.

One of my friends offers a "Have it Your Way" class, where she designs layouts and using whatever papers we choose we make the pages. She did an album class, which is what these are from. I used the Thoroughly Modern DSP and the coordinating cardstock colors: Sahara Sand, Bermuda Bay, Rose Red, Soft Suede and Whisper White.  You will notice that I'm not very good at journalling, so I'll try to give some background information.

This is of a trip that I took with my dad and aunt (my dad's sister) to Steamboat Springs, CO, last August. He was diagnosed with liver and lymphnode cancer that metastasised from his colon 2 years ago, last February. At that time he was given 6 months to 2 years to live. He is still with us, but now on Hospice and doesn't have much more time. Anyways, I wanted to take my dad on one last trip before he couldn't travel anymore and this is where we ended. Two factors played into the location, flights to Denver were very reasonable and my then boyfriend (now fiance) is part of a timeshare-like program where he purchases points to be used a various resorts and it just so happened that Steamboat Springs had one of these resorts. So we were able to use some of the points for a place to stay.

Here is the coverpage, which is just a picture of the three of us in front of some falls we saw, along with the location and date.

This next page shows the car that we rented to drive from Denver to Colorado Springs. The journalling on this page tells about the car I upgraded to (a hardtop convertible) and the first souvenior I received from Colorado Springs (a speeding ticket).

The final page I'm going to share with you today is of the condo that we stayed at using TC points.

Straight Out CASE

This is a card I did a few weeks ago for a baby swap. Is is a straight out CASE, the only changes I made were the number of star punches and brads used. Colors are Barely Banana, Bashful Blue, and Whisper White. Stamp set is Nursery Necessities.

Stay tuned tomorrow to see some scrapbook pages I made.

Pink Daffodils?

Is there such a thing? I don't know much about flowers, but if there were I think they would be pretty. Anyways, this is the other card I made from my color challenge swap I posted about on Sunday - Sahara Sand and a Rich Regal. This time I also used Whisper White (which was allowed). The Rich Regal I choose was Rose Red, hence the pink daffodils. The stamp set is Abundant Hope.

Thanks for stopping by!

Mother's Day Share

Here is another card that I made for a Mother's Day swap. I used the new Two-Step Bird punch to create the tulips and the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. I wish I could say this was an original idea, but like most of my cards, it isn't. There are a couple of blogs out there is tutorials for this. If you need help finding them, please let me know. The colors are Melon Mambo (or is it Mambo Melon, I'm suddenly have a brain freeze), Whisper White, So Saffron, Pretty in Pink, and Old Olive.

Sorry for the Duplicate Share

So I was looking at all the samples that I have posted and realized that the first card I posted today was a repeat. Sorry about that! Next time I'll have to be more careful.

A couple of simple cards

Sorry I've been MIA for the week, but to make up for it (well kind of), I will be sharing two cards today. These two are very simple and are from sketches. But of course I don't know what ones. The both of them use the Welcome Neighbors DSP from SAB.  The first one also uses Well Scripted and the new Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. The colors are Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, and Sahara Sand.

This second one uses the new scalloped edge punch from SAB, but will be carried on to the new catalog, and the new jumbo flower punch. The stamp set is Vintage Labels (also from SAB). Colors are Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, and Bermuda Bay.

Thanks for being patient with me and I will have some more shares for you through the weekend!

Last of the Purple

I made this card for a color swap. The requirements were to use Sahara Sand with any Rich Regal color. Whisper White or Very Vanilla could also be used, though I chose not too for this card. The layout is CASED and I originally wanted to step outside my box and use Bravo Burgandy (a color I very rarely use), but I found that I didn't have any ribbon or good embellishments to use with it. I played around with the layout some and came up with this, but I wasn't satisfied.

So along came my friend purple. I used Elegant Eggplant inside, I am much happier with the outcome!

Stamp sets used for both cards were Vintage Vogue and Very Vintage Wheel.

Over the Top Swap

Here is a card that I made for an Over the Top swap. The requirements were 5 layers (inside and out) and three embellishments. This is totally CASED again, with the addition of my embellishments and the inside. The picture is kind of blurry and I appologize for that. The stamps used were Vintage Vogue and Very Vintage wheel. Colors are Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, and Elegant Eggplant.

And now for the inside. Here it is picture upside down from how it was placed in the card, but right side up from the stamps perspective. I did go back and change the inside so the writting shows that right side up now.

Tomorrow is the last of my purple cards (at least for a while...)

10 Minute Challenge

Here is a card that I whipped up last night to mail today, along with a RAK. And again, it's purple. I used left over butterflies from the card that I posted yesterday, which were purple, so I didn't have much choice, did I? The challenge is a flower challenge with a sketch and it just so happens, my card fits the sketch, just not the flower part.

Anyways, I used Dot, Dot, Dot and Whimsical Words stamp sets. The colors are Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, and Whisper White. And again, totally CASED.

More purple to come tomorrow!

Purple Mother's Day Card

Day 3 of the purple posts. This card I made for a Mother's Day swap, but it really could be used for anything else, since I didn't actually include the words Mother's Day on it. But I still thought it was appropriate for Mother's Day. The colors are Elegant Eggplant, Pale Plum, and Whisper White. The stamp is from One of a Kind. Oh, and of course it's totally CASED.

More Purple and LNS Challenge

I'm not sure what happened to my post on the 16th, I had it all typed up, but it was never published, sorry about that. You should be able to see it now.

Here is a birthday invitation that I made for my soon to be step-daughter. The only request she had was that it be purple (a girl after my heart - for those of you that don't know, purple is my favorite color). Anywho, this card uses Rich Razzleberry, Pale Plum, Perfect Plum, and Whisper White. I also used a little bit of the Cottage Wall DSP and the Beautiful Butterfly embosslit. The stamp set with Sincere Salutations (I had to practically dust it off first).

Thanks for stopping by!

Purple Day 1

Here is the first of many purple shares that I promised yesterday. This is pretty much a CASE, with the colors changed out and layout slightly. Stamp sets used were Medallion, Charming, and Well Scripted. I also used the Beautiful Butterflies Embosslit. The colors were Elegant Eggplant, Pale Plum and Perfect Plum. The first one I made, I died the White Satin ribbon using the Elegant Eggplant reinkers.

I didn't really like how dark it turned out, so I made one with just the White Satin ribbon knotted without the butterflies. Which one do you like better?

Easter Share

As promised yesterday, here is another card using the same layout I showed yesterday. I changed up the colors, stamp set and flipped the vertical pieces to the left side. I used Forest Friends and Teeny Tiny Wishes to make an Easter card. The colors are Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Close to Cocoa, and Whisper White. I also used the Sending Love Specialty Paper and Vintage Labels stamp set on the tag.

I had a busy weekend stamping, stamping, stamping so I have lots to share with you in the upcoming week. The color of the weekend was purple apparently, so be prepared!

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Fox and Friends

This is another set from the Occassions Mini that I thought I could live without, but as it turns out, not true. I'm pretty sure I now own all but like 3 sets in the mini...Okay, I just counted and there are eight sets that I don't have. Not sure if that should make me feel better or not. Anyways, here is a CASE that I made using the turtle. Tomorrow I will be sharing another card using the same layout, but different stamp set and colors. This card used Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White.

Stay tuned tomorrow for the other card. Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Share

Here is a card that I pretty much CASED, using different colors. I used Sahara Sand, Crushed Curry, and Soft Suede, along with Welcome Neighbors DSP. The only stamping was of the sentiment from Well Scripted.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Seeing Stars

Here is a card I created for a masculine swap originally, though I think I ended up using it for a different swap. Anyways, colors are Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, and Whisper White. The stamp sets I used were Seeing Stars and Tiny Tags.

Thanks for stopping by!

On a Pedestal

I'm back with more swap samples. Maybe one of these days, I will actually create a card just to create a card. Anyways, here are two samples that use pretty much the same supplies, but differently. The stamp set is On A Pedestal. I used the Essentials Chunky Glitter to add some sparkle to it. The colors are Chocolate Chip, Real Red, and Whisper White.

Fresh Cuts

Okay, so I'm still playing catch up on sharing all the swaps that I created while I was gone (or not posting). Here is one that used Fresh Cuts. I bought this set when it was available as a promo and honestly have only used it like twice since then. I have a hard time with it, so what do I do? Search splitcoast and blogs for ideas to CASE! And I was successful. I'm pretty sure this is a pretty blatant case. The one thing I did switch up was the flower used in the lower left hand corner. I used the Cherry Blossom embosslit and the flower punch for the leaves. Colors used are Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, Whisper White, Basic Black and Always Artichoke (for leaves). For the main image, I stamped it in Versamark and then embossed with with black embossing powder. I then colored the flowers with a marker.

Thanks for stopping by!

SAB Sample

These cards I designed for another SAB swap that I participated in. I CASED another swap that I received, but don't recall whose right now, so if it was your's feel free to let me know. Anyways, I used as much as SAB product as possible, the DSP (Welcome Neighbor), punch (scalloped trim edge) and stamp set (Vintage Labels).

On my first design, I also used the scalloped circle punch, but then switched it out and used the new flower punch. I also used a different peice of the Sweet Pea stiched felt.

Thanks for stopping by!

Easter Blessings

Here is an Easter card that I made for another swap I participated in. I started out by CASEing a card, but my final product did not end of looking like the one I CASED, other than the stamp set and colors. The stamp set is Abundant Hope and colors are Certainly Celery, So Saffron and Whisper White. I also used the Sweet Pea DSP.

Thanks for looking!

All About the Men

I joined a swap for masculine cards. It didn't matter what kind of cards, as long as they were masculine. Here is what I did with Party Hearty and the wide striped grosgrain ribbon. Colors are Old Olive, Whisper White, and Night of Navy.

Bold Bright Vintage Vogue

Here is a care I made for a Bold Brights swap. The requirements were to use Basic Black and a color from the Bold Brights color family (other neutral colors could be used too). The color I chose was Yoyo Yellow. I have to say that this is a color that I haven't used in a long time and don't usually use. The layout was CASED (as usual), so again if you're the original designer please let me know so I can give credit where credit is due. I used Vintage Vogue, Very Vintage (jumbo wheel), and Whimsical Words (SAB) along with the Yoyo Yellow, Basic Black and Whisper White colors. It's hard to tell from the picture, but I also used the Perfect Details Embossing plate on the Whisper White cardstock.

Rag Bags

So the new craze is using the big shot with fabric to create the rag bags. Here are a couple that I made for a fabric swap that I participated in. I used the scallop square die to cut the fabric. I used to do a lot of quilting when I was younger and I do have to say, this does cut down on the cutting time for sure! There are plenty of blogs with directions of how to make these bags, so I will spare the details here, but if you need directions, please let me know. The first picture shows two bags I made, one with the seams out, showing the scalloped edge, and the other with the seams in, for a cleaner front. I used Certaintly Celery 5/8" grosgrain ribbon for the handles.

Here is another one I made with different fabric and using Basic Black ribbon for the handles.

He Went To Jareds!

Okay, I know I've been a bad, bad, bad blogger and I appologize for that. Life has been kind of busy with TC back, which I did kind of predict. But that doesn't mean I haven't been stamping, because I have! I've been pouring out the swaps lately. I will be sharing these with you in the upcoming days. You read it, I said days! I'm going to try my darndest to keep up with my blog again.

Anyways, as you can tell from my title, we're engaged! He proposed last Sunday and did actually go to Jareds. Of course I said yes. There aren't any details available yet as we are not sure about the timing, but we do hope to be married by the time he leaves again. Yes, he's leaving again for Afghanistan this time in May. Here is a picture of the ring, not a very good one, but I think you can get the idea. It's a solitaire stone and then there are four smaller stones set in the ring on each side, that matches the wedding ring.

Okay, now on to the stamping. Here is the first card I'm going to share with you. I made this for a one on one swap and the theme was Black and White. I used the Stripes, Fine Flourish and With All My Heart stamp sets, the Daisy die and matchbox die for the tags. The courdoroy brad in the center of the flower is actually a Kraft brad that I colored with my Stamp and Write marker to make black.
