Diva Coffee Break Challenge 190 (DCBC190)

Welcome to the Diva Coffee Break Challenge 190. This week it's a color challenge. The colors are below.

And here is my take. The colors are as above, plus Whisper White and Basic Black. The stamp sets are Circle Circus and On Your Birthday.

Still have a couple of boxes left that need to be adopted too. Please let me know if you're interested. To see the other designer's designs, visit the main blog here. Thanks for stopping by!

Adopt a Box Campaign

I have six large flat rate boxes full of cards and card fronts that need to be mailed sitting in the middle of my living room floor. The first box contains cards and envelopes in plastic envelopes, which is how they get sent to the troops overseas. I quickly realized that I wasn't going to have time to do that with the rest of the cards, unemployed or not. So, I just started to fill the rest of the boxes to send to From Our Hearts and their volunteers (who will turn the card fronts into cards and prepare them to be sent to the troops over seas for them to send back to their loved ones). Some of you are familiar with the From Our Hearts program, founded by a fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator and the 2010 recipient of the "Heart of Stampin' Up!" award, Martie Shea. My next step is to mail them to Martie and her group and this is where I could use your help! I've recently been laid off and can't justify $60 plus to mail these off so I'm hoping that you may want to "ADOPT A BOX" for the Troops! I know there are many of you that would love to help, but just don't have the time with everything else life has to offer you, so here is your chance. How? Donate stamps ($14.50 per box), or money to purchase stamps, so these cards can be put to good use. If you are interested in ADOPTING A BOX or learning more about From Our Hearts, please contact me.

And for taking the time to read my plea for help, here is a quick card share too. This is also a CASE from a convention swap I received that I adapted for a monthly swap that I am apart of. The stamp sets are Printed Petals, On Your Birthday, and Teeny Tiny Wishes. The colors are Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, and Whisper White.

Thanks for stopping by and helping with my cause if you can.

Kid Birthday CASE

First of all, thank you everyone for your kind words yesterday when I was feeling sad, I really appreciate it. But there's nothing stampin' can't fix, right? Today's share is a shameless CASE of a card by Mary Jo Price-Williams that can be seen here. I appologize for the horrible picture of the card. It's hard to tell the quality of the picture until I actually download the picture, which is usually right before I post it. Anyways, I used Tall Tales DSP and On Your Birthday, first time I broke into both of them. The colors are Brilliant Blue, Whisper White, and Chocolate Chip.

Hostess Club Share

Today I'm going to show you a card that we did at a Hostess Club that I'm part of hosted by another demo, Tracy, you can check out her blog here. I had another card that I designed all ready to show you, but I forgot to get the measurements to share, so that will have to wait for another day.

This months technique was brayering and this card utilized two tone braying (new to me too). I inked up the brayer half with Rose Red and half with Pretty in Pink and then brayered it on Glossy White cardstock. I have to work on this a little as you can see some lines, but overall, I think the effect is very pretty. We then used some of the Sweet Pea Stiched flowers and a saying from On Your Birthday in Chocolate Chip.

Cardstock: Glossy White (3.75" x 5"), Pretty in Pink (4" x 5.25"), Chocolate Chip (8.5" x 5.5", folded in half)
Ink: Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip
Accesories: Brayer, Sweet Pea Stiched flowers
Stamp Set: On Your Birthday

Don't forget, there is still time to join my Cyber Hostess Club. To join or for more details, email me. See this post for more details too.
