Sketch Frenzy - Last Day!

Here is the final card I designed using the sketch from Sketch Frenzy Friday. I actually will be doing this as a make and take for a club I have this afternoon. I am highlighting the different ways to use DSP. Again, I used Island Oasis DSP, Old Olive, Whisper White and Pumpkin Pie cardstock. The little punched out flowers are from Itty Bitty Bits and punched out using the Trio Flower punch (which is retiring). The sentiment is from Happy Everything, which is also retiring.

Again, don't forget about my BLOG CANDY! See Friday's post to see how you can get in on it! Tomorrow is the last day to get registered.

Thanks!

Sketch Frenzy Continued - Day 2

Here is the second card that I created again using the sketch from yesterday's Sketch Frenzy. I used the Island Oasis DSP, Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive and Whisper White cardstock. The flowers are also from the Summer Mini, the cordinating Bigz Die. The sentiment is from the new Level 3 Hostess, Occasional Quotes.

Don't forget about the opprotunity to win my BLOG CANDY! See yesterday's post for details. Tomorrow is the last of the Sketch Frenzy shares. See you then!

VC Rocks Blog Hop

Welcome to the first VC Rocks Blog Hop. If you came from Lori's blog, you're on the right track. If you started here, don't worry you can follow the blogs and it will bring you full circle.

Today I am showing yet another card that I created for a swap using Island Oasis DSP. I tried to show as many different patterns of the paper as possible, while still making it reasonable to reproduce. I came up with the pinwheel design. This is NOT my original design and there are many other tutorials out there for this, but this is what I did.

Supplies:
1 1/4" square punch
Word Window Punch
Build a Brad
3/4" circle punch
Cardstock  (Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red)
DSP (Island Oasis)
Ink (Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red)
Tropical Party Stamp Set
Pocket Sillouettes (sentiment)

Directions:
1. Cut two 2 5/8" squares out of Rose Red cardstock
2. Fold both squares in half both ways and along the diagonals to find the centers.
3. Align the squares so the score lines on one of the squares folded in half line up with the score lines on the other square along the diagonal and the centers are on top of each other.
4. Punch four 1 1/4" squares out of one design of DSP and four more out of another design of DSP.
5. Start layering the squares on top of the base you created in step 3, alternating DSP designs. The last square will need to be tucked under the first square to finish the pinwheel look.
6. Punch out 3/4" circle out of another design of DSP and assemble the Build a Brad.
7. Put the Build a Brad in the center of your now completed pinwheel.
8. Finish the card as desired. I used Island Party to add a subtle design to the Pumpkin Pie cardstock and the word window punch to display my greeting on the Rose Red cardstock.

Hope you enjoyed this stop and now you are on your way to see the beautiful creation of Ellen Kemper here.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sneak Peak: Sweet Scoops

Again, thanks for your patience. I see that I've fallen into bad habits again. I used Sweet Scoops, vanilla Smooch Spritz, and Island Oasis DSP, all from the summer mini. This is actually an easel card, but I didn't take a picture of it. The colors are Rose Red, Close to Cocoa, and Whisper White. I notice the picture is a little blurring, sorry about that. How does only half of the picture get blurry anyways?

Thanks for Your Patience!

Thanks for you patience while I tend to my family during the last days of my dad's life and the proceeding funeral arrangements. I've finally been able to sit down with my stamping stuff and had to design my cards for the Royal Blog Tour coming next week. With those done, I still have many, many, many swaps to make in the next couple of days. Here is a sneak peak from the Summer Mini using Sweet Scoops. The colors are Tempting Turquoise, Rose Red, and Pumpkin Pie. I also used the new Island Oasis DSP and Square Lattice Impressions folder, both from the Summer Mini, and Dazzling Diamonds.

Once I realized that cutting out 18 x 3 of the ice cream top was not going to be possible, I changed up the design slightly to what is shown below.  I actually got out the dread Circle Sissors Plus (CSP) to cut the Whisper White circles out. The CSP and I do NOT get along very well. I end up wasting a lot of paper and just plain don't like it (and the blade once cut me).  We got along enough for me to cut 18 circles out and now it's back in the drawer, where it is likely to stay for a while. Instead of the Dazzling Diamonds, I decided to try the new smooch spritz (vanilla shimmer) paints, also in the Summer Mini. Definitely going to have to get the spray box too, everything within a 5 feet radius of my craft desk is now very sparkly!

Again, thanks for your patience and prayers and thoughts.
